জাতিসংঘ বলেছে যে চায়ের ঔ ষধি মূল্য রয়েছে এবং এটি মানব স্বাস্থ্যের জন্য উপকার পাওয়ার সম্ভাবনা রয়েছে।
২০১৯ সালে, জাতিসংঘ (ইউএন) বিশ্বের অন্যতম প্রাচীন পানীয়গুলির গুরুত্ব স্বীকার করেছে।
জাতিসংঘ কেবল চায়ের ঔষধি গুনকেই স্বীকৃতি দেয়নি, তারা পানীয়টিকে তার টেকসই উন্নয়ন লক্ষ্য (এসডিজি) কর্মসূচির একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ উপাদান হিসাবে বিবেচনা করেছে। তারা আশা করছে যে, চা বিশ্বজুড়ে ক্ষুধা ও দারিদ্র্য বিমোচনে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা পালন করবে।
আন্তর্জাতিক চা দিবসটি জাতিসংঘের খাদ্য ও কৃষি সংস্থা (এফএও) দ্বারা উদযাপিত হচ্ছে। আন্তর্জাতিক চা দিবসের প্রথম বছরে, একটি ভার্চুয়াল ইভেন্টের আয়োজন করা হয়েছে। সেখানে বিশ্বের শীর্ষ চায়ের রফতানি এবং আমদানির পাশাপাশি প্রধান উৎপাদনকারী দেশগুলিকে দেখতে পাবে এবং তাদের চিন্তাধারা শেয়ার করতে পারবে। আগ্রহী ব্যক্তিরা ওয়েবকাস্টের মাধ্যমে আন্তর্জাতিক চা দিবস উদযাপনে অংশ গ্রহণ করতে পারেন।
এর আগে, ১৫ ডিসেম্বর চা উৎপাদনকারী দেশগুলিতে বাংলাদেশ, শ্রীলঙ্কা, নেপাল, ভিয়েতনাম, ইন্দোনেশিয়া, কেনিয়া, মালাউই, মালয়েশিয়া, উগান্ডা, ভারত এবং তানজানিয়ায় আন্তর্জাতিক চা দিবস হিসাবে পালিত হয়েছিল।
মে মাসে
চা উৎপাদনের মরসুম বেশিরভাগ দেশে শুরু হয়, যে কারণে- জাতিসংঘ ২১শে
মে আন্তর্জাতিক চা দিবস হিসাবে উদযাপন করছে।

consumption of tea.

Nations has said that, tea has medicinal value and is likely to benefit human health.
In 2019, the
United Nations (UN) recognized the importance of one of the world's oldest
drinks.
The United
Nations has not only recognized the medicinal value of tea, but also considered
it a key component of its Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). They hope that
tea will play an important role in alleviating hunger and poverty around the
world.
International
Tea Day is being celebrated by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the
United Nations (FAO). In the first year of International Tea Day, a virtual
event has been organized. There you will be able to see the world's top tea
exporters and importers as well as the major producing countries and share
their thoughts. Interested persons can take part in the celebration of
International Tea Day through webcast.
Earlier,
December 15 was observed as International Tea Day in Bangladesh, Sri Lanka,
Nepal, Vietnam, Indonesia, Kenya, Malawi, Malaysia, Uganda, India and Tanzania.
